applesauce

It finally feels like fall! Which I love…the colder the better. đŸ˜€

Here is the applesauce recipe I use and love! Enjoy!

Ingredients

4 Granny Smith and 4 Golden Delicious apples, peeled, cored, cut into 1/2-inch slices
1 cup apple cider or juice
1 lemon, juiced
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Dash nutmeg

Directions

Add apples, apple cider, lemon juice, sugar, cinnamon sticks and a dash of nutmeg to a large saucepan. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid and reduce to a simmer. Let cook for 15 minutes or until apples are tender. Remove cinnamon sticks and discard.

Mash with a potato masher (this applesauce is chunky. If you don’t like chunky applesauce in the food processor or blender to make it smooth), and stir in the 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon and dash of nutmeg. Transfer to a serving dish and serve warm.
